Can you believe it? TakingITGlobal is turning 5 years old, and we feel like celebrating, reminiscing, and well, showing off our latest incarnation of TIG.org - Version 5! For V5, we redesigned major components of our website, added new features, and incorporated your suggestions for usability and overall enhancement. Browse around the site to see the changes for yourself, and read all about the intensive process behind the making of V5 in our latest featured theme: 5 Years of TakingITGlobal.

TakingITGlobal and the Global Youth Action Network are very proud to present the result of work that begun more than a year ago: the Portuguese Version of TakingITGlobal's online community! In addition to having Spanish, Arabic, French and Russian platforms available, it will now be possible to choose "Português" when you're navigating through the website to have access to all the content in Portuguese. This accomplishment was only made possible with the hard work of the translation group and some other very special people that helped us out along the way. The final phase of this task was coordinated by Barbara Azevedo, our Portuguese Engagement Coordinator working from GYAN's Regional Office in Brazil.
我们不要忘记TIG的内容总是在自我更新,所以还有很多工作要做。如果你愿意加入这支成功的翻译队伍,请点击这里。 By the way, here's a list of people we would like to appreciate publicly for their contributions: Talita Montiel, Felipe Butelli, Felipe Portela, Mayra Peixoto, Julia Furlan, Gustavo Nicoletta, Luana Cavalcanti, Bruna, Ana Boa-Ventura, Pedro Piza, Daniel Taminato, Alberto Cauaia, Larissa Cavalcante and last, but not least, Diogo Andre and Melina Laboucan-Massimo. 为研究青年人自己领导的活动出力
TakingITGlobal is conducting research on 'Youth Led Action in an International Context' in attempt to better understand the characteristics of youth leadership in this era and how it can be made more effective. The research will contribute to the development of a new version of TakingITGlobal's Guide to Action. For the purposes of this study, a young leader is defined as someone between the ages of 16 - 26, who has initiated an effort to affect change in their community (which can be defined as local, national and/or global), either as part of an institution or outside of formal institutions.
如果您符合这些标准,欢迎您参加在线调查,为在全球范围内培养出青年引导行动和约定的文化出力。 点击此处
调查将于2005年9月23日星期五结束。
“思,省,行”在埃及AIMUN上
The first Alexandria International Model has taken place from 7th to the 10th of August 2005, at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Alexandria, Egypt. The model is a student to student activity run for the first time by the youth members of an Egyptian non-governmental organization, Sustainable Development Association (SDA). The model delegates went through a training course of eight sessions in July followed by the conference in August. The theme of the model was "Re-evaluation of the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region performance towards the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals: A Youth Perspective." Moustafa Hussein, who is TIG's Arabic Translations coordinator, was the vice president for the model and a member of the coordination team. To find out more about the model activities, click here!

With the population of 26 million, Uzbekistan has only 492,000 Internet users (Internet World Stats, 2005).
