What inspires me is the passion that young that young people all over the world have for social change. Nelson Mandela once said that the world is hungry for action not words. Young people can remain an untapped resource if decision-makers do not integrate their knowledge, vision and experience. The world’s largest untapped resource in creating a developed world is young people. Youth are a huge and growing demographic, making up more than two-thirds of the population of some developing nations. Yet, young people have too often been seen as a burden rather than an asset, a group to be taught but not to teach, and to receive but not to give. There is need to work with youth to change this paradigm. Youth need to be engaged in decision-making processes related to the development of our nations and the world at large.

The issue that matters to me the most is Universal Access. I learned about it in September 2005, when world leaders gathered at the United Nations World Summit to review the progress made in achieving the internationally-agreed MDGs. They also discussed concrete actions that would help ensure that countries respect the commitments they made to reduce global poverty by 2015. I became involved this year by being part of the team that organized a consultative meeting for young people on Africa on universal access.

A good leader must stay focused on his goals,not his immediate problems.He should look beyond what a person is today and see what they might become tomorrow. He should also do what he can to make others lives pleasant,and others will try to please him in return. Leadership isn’t about being the best, it’s about bringing out the best in others.

TIG is already helped me achieve most of my goals. When I joined TIG, I didn't know a lot about what other young people around the world were doing. Present day, I have met a lot enthusiastic young people around the world through TIG who are doing great things and who inspire me a lot. I made a lot of friends and learned about a lot of organisations through TIG. I have also traveled for conferences through the information that I got from TIG.
